The Boston Club’s Corporate Board Program is led by our Corporate Board Committee. The Committee identifies and recommends qualified women to fill public and private corporate board openings. After an assessment of a company’s specific requirements, a Corporate Board Committee liaison conducts an in-depth search of the Club’s robust database of both members and non-members to generate candidate slates for the company’s review.
Our network is wide: as well as the entire membership of The Boston Club and their contacts, it includes candidate pools from thirteen other executive women’s organizations which, together with The Boston Club, constitute ION, The InterOrganization Network. With over 100 placements across all major industries, including high tech, financial services, retail, manufacturing, life sciences and health care, the Corporate Board Program has built a strong reputation for providing a highly valued service to organizations committed to ensuring gender diversity on their boards.
The Boston Club's Corporate Board Committee benefits greatly from the support of its Corporate Advisory Board, top business leaders who support the Club's mission by helping to identify board openings, introducing our Corporate Board Program to companies seeking directors, providing feedback on current industry trends, and advocating on behalf of the Club and its mission.
Fundamental to the Corporate Board Committee’s work is The Boston Club’s annual Census of Women Directors and Executive Officers of Massachusetts Public Companies. In partnership with Mercer and Bentley University, we examine the composition of boards and executive leadership teams as a means of monitoring the progress, or lack thereof, toward greater representation by women.
